The List of Colors We Use
We gathered every color the studio has used over ten years into a searchable archive. Each color comes with where and how it was used.

A studio's assets are usually organized around finished results. We decided to organize the raw material instead.
Background
When we extracted colors from ten years of project files, more than 2,400 values came out. Many of them were nearly identical, and some had been drifting slightly year by year. We didn't actually know, with any precision, what colors we used.
Design
We grouped colors by use rather than by project — colors used as fields, colors used as type, colors as printed, colors that existed only on screen. Even the same value becomes a different entry if its use differs, because printed magenta and screen magenta are not the same color.
Search works by condition, not by name: dark / high-saturation / used in print / from the last three years. The more conditions you layer, the narrower the list gets, and each entry carries a photo of the color actually in place.
Result
2,412 values were consolidated into 418 entries. The time spent hunting for reference material at the color-proposal stage of new projects dropped noticeably, and more importantly, we learned which colors we kept returning to — the list turned out to be shorter than expected.
